The Millington Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting it first Comedy Night to be held at the Millington Fire House on May 21, 2016.  Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 8pm.  Tickets are $30 per person must be 21 or over.  Complementary snacks will be served and a cash bar will be open.

Doug Karpf

Doug is a quick witted comedian, known for his rapid punch lines and hilarious improvisations.  Much of his inspiration comes from being a father and husband living day to day in his native state of New Jersey. 

Having mastered the skill of finding humor in everyday life, he brings an unmistakable charismatic presence to the stage that leaves viewers roaring with laughter and sharing with each other, “I know EXACTLY what he’s talking about!”. No matter his audience, he engages the crowd and always delivers laughs. 

Doug performs at clubs across the country and has performed for the United States Armed Forces.  Doug’s credits include Rascal’s, Caesar’s, Resorts, Catch a Rising Star, Broadway Comedy Club just to name a few.

Doug received ECNY Best Host Nomination for Emerging Comics of New York.

 

Chip Ambrogia

As a contributing writer for The Friars Club Roasts, Chip uses his every man persona to poke fun at the trials and tribulations of everyday life. “The only thing that keeps me going - Is knowing everyday I’m a little bit closer to death.” Chip has performed at all the major city clubs. Currently writing for some of today’s top headliners, he’s a sought after joke writer by today’s established acts and the top new comers on the circuit.

College, club and road audiences have enjoyed his wry observations of parenthood, Catholic school and growing up poor in Greenwich Connecticut. His motto is "Seize the Day" and if no one's watching other people's belongings.

Before becoming a standup comic, he was the editor and publisher of Commuter Monthly, a humor magazine for New Jersey commuters. He’s had several of his short stories published amongst them, “Plastic Jesus” and “Deep Tux.”

In addition to writing and performing, he specializes in adding humor to corporate speeches and presentations for such companies as Sony, D&M Group and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield.

He’s currently working on a pilot Dying is Easy and stars as “Jack” in the independent film, Secure.  Chip co-hosts The Basement Chronicles podcast with his teenage son Mclean – think Wayne’s World meets Father Knows Least! He is also regular on The Watson & Watson Show.

Chip is currently a writer for the new sitcom “Don’t Know Jack”, which debuts this year on Hulu Plus.  He’s an activist and volunteers his time to many worthwhile causes, amongst them the ethical treatment of animal crackers.
